ATU Donegal go live on new Banner 9 SRMS

Atlantic Technology University become first Higher Education Institution to use cloud based Student Record Management System delivered by EduCampus

Atlantic Technology University (ATU) is the first Higher Education Institution (HEI) in Ireland to go live on the new state-of-the-art, cloud-based, Student Record Management System (SRMS) being delivered by EduCampus Services via their contractual relationship with DXC Technology.

The Student Records Management System is the primary source for student information and data and is the single largest and most complex information system in use across the Higher Education sector in Ireland.

The Donegal campuses of Letterkenny and Killybegs were the first of ATU’s 8 campuses to implement the modernised digital platform, which aims to reduce the current administrative burden by providing staff with mobile-enabled technology to help streamline key administration tasks. This will include the remote submission of grades, as well as allowing the integration of the technology with other systems currently used across the higher education sector.

Students will benefit from a single sign-on self-service platform that will enable them to complete their admission, registration, and payment of fees as well as review grades on an ongoing basis from their mobile device.

Speaking on the release of the new system, Dr Orla Flynn, President of Atlantic Technological University, said;

Atlantic TU was pleased to work with the EduCampus team towards our common goal of implementing the new Banner 9 student record management system, and we were delighted that our Donegal campuses were the first locations in Ireland to see this development. EduCampus has provided ATU students with the ability to access their academic information anywhere and at any time, as well as greater flexibility for both administrative and academic staff. We appreciate the ongoing support from EduCampus in our transition to a unified Technological University, and we look forward to their continued support as we roll out Banner 9 across all our Atlantic TU locations.”

Paddy Naughton, Chief Executive, EduCampus Services, said:

EduCampus are delighted to deploy this key strategic system to ATU Donegal and would like to thank the team at ATU for their hard work and dedication during this process. As pilot site for this strategic programme of work, ATU Donegal provided invaluable leadership to the wider HEI sector, enabling EduCampus to incorporate the lessons learned from the project into future rollouts. EduCampus looks forward to continuing to support ATU on delivering innovative technology, empowering them to respond to, and optimise the transformational changes occurring in the Irish education and research environment”.

As the evolution of technology in the education sector continues to grow, EduCampus is committed to staying ahead of the curve, providing the best services and solutions for clients.
