Library Management System – Project News

7th April 2017

We are pleased to announce that on Thursday 22nd March Waterford Institute of Technology went live with the new library management system, Koha

WIT and GMIT were selected as pilot institutes for implementation of the new system, which will see a move off Millennium and onto the cloud-based Koha library system. WIT is the first Institute to go live, and GMIT are on target to go live in early April. The project schedule for the remaining Institutes is currently being finalised.

Successful implementation in WIT is a key achievement in delivering the LMS project, and particular credit is due to Eilish Cattanach, Project Manager, Imelda Bennis, Service Liaison Officer, and the team in WIT. This go-live represents a significant milestone in the delivery of the overall MIS Refresh Programme to refresh the application layer and associated infrastructure of systems currently deployed across the Institutes of Technology.

We would like to acknowledge the ongoing support from the Institutes in working together to achieve our shared goals, and look forward to continued positive engagement on this and other projects.
